KARACHI: Pakistan fast bowler Aiman Anwar has announced her retirement from international cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old represented Pakistan in eight One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 37 T20 Internationals between July 2016 and February 2023. She took four wickets in ODIs and claimed 29 wickets in T20Is during her international career.
Aiman made her international debut in a T20I against England in Southampton in 2016. She earned her first ODI cap against Bangladesh in Colombo the following year.
She was part of Pakistan’s squads for the 2018, 2020 and 2022-23 Women’s T20 World Cups and also represented the national side at the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
Aiman first emerged on the domestic cricket scene with Karachi Under-19 at the PCB National Under-19 Women’s Championship in January 2010.
Following her playing career, Aiman moved into broadcasting and has continued to remain involved in cricket. She has now also begun a new career in match officiating.
Earlier this week, she made her debut as a match referee in the National Women’s Under-19 Tournament after completing her induction course in January.
Her retirement marks the end of a seven-year international career with Pakistan, during which she represented the country across two formats and featured in several major international tournaments.
